300+ people. Over 500 bags of waste. Around 5 tonnes removed. One river – Krivaja! 💚

More than 300 people joined forces to clean the Krivaja River, from the source of the Bioštica River to the riverbanks, roadsides, picnic areas, public spaces and school surroundings across three municipalities: Olovo, Zavidovići and Maglaj.

My special thanks go to the children, schools, principals and teachers from OŠ Olovske Luke, OŠ Solun–Careva Ćuprija, OŠ Vozuća–Ribnica and OŠ Novi Šeher.

Teachers are an army of change! Some of their names never reach us, but their contributions are enormous. They are raising generations that, I hope, will be better than ours. Thank you for bringing art, creativity and love for nature into this action.

Thanks to our fellow activists who have been cleaning Krivaja for the past two months, our friends from ETH Zurich, and the employees of JKP Bioštica.

And special thanks to Enes, Almir, Ammar Hodžić, Ada (our giant from Olovo!), Sakib, Safet and Mujo, who was a truly outstanding coordinator!

It was more than a clean-up. It was a celebration of people, solidarity and hope.

This activity was organised within the KRIOT project, through the joint efforts of UDEG and the Municipality of Olovo.
